David H. King — President & CEO
David H. King, President & CEO of Alexander Haas, has lived in Atlanta for 30 years and been in the field of nonprofit development for more than 28 years. In his 25 years at Alexander Haas, David has provided counsel to hundreds of organizations in the areas of higher education, independent schools, hospitals, conservation, human services, churches and faith-based organizations.
Mark D. Belcher - Partner
Prior to joining Alexander Haas in 2014, Mark served as President of the Baptist Health Foundation and as Chief Development Officer for Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. During his time at Baptist, Mark took a fledgling development operation and transformed it - securing in excess of $35 million in philanthropic support to the Foundation, initiating and completing a successful capital campaign supporting the $60 Million expansion of Princeton Baptist Medical Center, and increasing donor participation by 400%.
Arthur Criscillis, Ed.D. — Managing Partner
Arthur brings over 25 years of development and nonprofit experience to Alexander Haas. He moved from advancement work for colleges and universities into consulting for the opportunity to work with, and for, a wide variety of colleges, universities, and independent schools.
Jerry W. Henry — Partner
With over 35 years of experience covering a wide-range of non-profit institutions, Jerry W. Henry, Partner, provides counsel on a daily-basis to a diverse body of clients including educational institutions, human service groups, cultural institutions and faith-based organizations.
Ed Hohlbein — Data Management Consultant
Ed Hohlbein brings a BFA from Central Michigan University, an MFA from the University of Georgia, and 16 years of experience with nonprofit organizations to his work. In addition to working as a Database Administrator, Grant Researcher and Writer, Major Gifts Officer, and Executive Director, Ed has provided consulting to development teams nationwide.
W. Milton Key, Jr. — Partner
During his 25 years as a fundraising professional, Milton’s passion for helping nonprofit organizations establish and reach their fundraising goals has led to millions of dollars raised, given by many donors, enabling even more bright futures.
Sandra K. Kidd — Partner
Sandra K. Kidd, Partner, provides a wide range of results-oriented services to clients including Board planning and development, fundraising assessment studies, campaign strategy studies, campaign direction, staff development and general consulting. Her areas of expertise cover campaign planning and management, and major and planned giving consultation.
Nancy E. Peterman — Partner
Nancy E. Peterman, as Partner, assists universities, schools, healthcare, arts and cultural institutions and human service organizations to achieve results and pursue their missions. Most recently Nancy served as President of the Georgia State University Foundation and Vice President for University Development.
Pressley Harris Peters — Writer
Pressley’s love of writing shows in her work as Alexander Haas’ independent writing consultant. She uses language to inspire people to give, purchase or act, and she meets client expectations in substance, deadline and budget. Pressley’s writing fortes include marketing collateral (brochures, direct mail), digital content (case studies, product profiles, press materials) and specialty fundraising collateral (case for support).
David T. Shufflebarger — Senior Partner
Talk with Shuff for a few minutes and it is likely that you will learn four things: 1) He is passionate about philanthropy; 2) He considers himself fortunate to be married to Patti, his bride of 47 years; 3) He is more than a little proud of their six grandchildren; and 4) He is a not so humble Virginian. Shuff is in his 21st year at Alexander Haas after serving 25 years in advancement roles.
John H. Taylor — Partner
As a Partner at Alexander Haas, Inc., John applies his extensive background in development to serve a wide variety of clients. For nearly 30 years, he has served as a leader in the field of advancement, campaign management, and board development and has helped nonprofit organizations around the world to enhance the operational aspects of advancement and assist them with strategic and campaign planning, preparation and execution.
Rebekah Wortman — SEO/Social Media Consultant
Rebekah Wortman has delivered effective integrated business-to-business communications, search engine optimization and internet marketing strategies to organizations in multiple industries since 2005. Wortman holds a BA in Political Science and Mass Communications from the University of Georgia.
Judy K. Anderson — Project Director
Judy has been a fundraising fixture in the Atlanta nonprofit community for more than 20 years. She came to Alexander Haas in 2002 where she helped guide the highly-successful High Museum of Art capital campaign.
Jarrad Howard - Campaign Strategy Studies Coordinator
Jarrad Howard, Campaign Strategy Studies Coordinator, brings his passion for non-profits and the arts to Alexander-Haas. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Brenau University, and as a member of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, Jarrad’s background in music and theatre led him to development and fundraising.
Virginia King — Office Manager
Virginia serves the Firm as Office Manager and, in addition, is responsible for all accounts receivables and payables. Her duties enable her to be in personal contact with most of our clients on a regular basis.
Elizabeth Smith — Project Coordinator
As Project Coordinator, Elizabeth provides administrative support for firm projects and tasks associated with client services, non-client tasks, and professional activities.
Heather C. Thornton — Project Manager
Heather’s passion for working with and for nonprofits is evidenced in her professional and personal endeavors. She has been a member of the Alexander Haas team for over nine years, having previously worked at The Southern Center for International Studies.
