October 8, 2018 @ 8:00 am - October 10, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

As part of SEMC Trustee/Director’s Day Monday October 8, Alexander Haas Partner Sandra Kidd leads a session called “Disrupt the Boardroom.”  The purpose is to discuss ways to mix up our traditional methods of Board recruitment by using the power of LinkedIn and other social networks to meet, cultivate and recruit a pool of potential Board leaders for the future.  Demographics alone tell us that our tried and true ways are fast becoming obsolete, if they haven’t already.  This Roundtable will start with some new ideas to shake up old models, and then will open the door for session participants to share their ideas and experiences.

This session is envisioned for the Trustee/Director’s luncheon or the session immediately following lunch.

David Butler, Executive Director of the Knoxville Museum of Art, and Mary Baily Wieler, Walters Art Museum Trustee and President of the Museum Trustee Association, have agreed to anchor the conversation.  They represent the Director’s perspective and the Trustee perspective, which we believe is essential for the day’s programs.  We plan to recruit another individual, like someone experienced with using social media networks for their Museum, and we are open to any and all suggestions for participants for this session.  Sandra Kidd, Partner, Alexander Haas, will introduce the session and keep the conversation flowing.
