Nancy E. Peterman
Senior Partner
Nancy E. Peterman, as Partner, assists universities, schools, healthcare, animal welfare, and religious organizations in achieving results and pursuing their missions. In her role as Partner at Alexander Haas, Nancy provides a variety of fundraising services from campaign strategy studies, development assessments, and campaign fundraising counsel to board and staff development. She has been in the development field for more than 25 years, with 16 years of institutionally related foundation experience.
Nancy served as President of the Georgia State University Foundation and Vice President for University Development for ten years before becoming a consultant. She has served as Executive Director of the Old Dominion University Educational and Intercollegiate Foundations, President of the DePaul Health Foundation, Director of Development for Marist School in Atlanta, and Senior Executive Consultant for the Kellogg Organization.
Her clients at Alexander Haas have included Louisiana State University Foundation, University of North Carolina Wilmington, Saint Mary’s College of California, University of West Florida, University of Richmond School of Law, Clemson University, Salem Academy and College, Georgia Southern University, the University of Connecticut, Atlanta Humane Society, Erlanger Health Care System, Cathedral of Christ the King, Emory University School of Law, Kansas State University, Sewickley Academy, Notre Dame Academy, and the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University.
Nancy has conducted presentations at numerous conferences and seminars throughout the country on subjects including major gifts, development officer and leadership recruitment, board governance, engagement, and giving, presidential transitions, metrics, trends in giving, and peer-to-peer solicitation. She is in demand as a coach and trainer for major and principal gift officers, presidents, chancellors, deans, vice presidents, and other academic and administrative leadership.
Nancy has served on the Boards of the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia, Theatrical Outfit, the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Atlanta, and the Advisory Board of the Fund for Theological Advancement. Nancy is a graduate of the University of Virginia, with graduate work in business at Old Dominion University.
She is married to Michael Pratt, an otolaryngologist, and they have four children and five grandchildren. She enjoys playing the violin, cycling, hiking, kayaking, gardening, reading, and cooking in her spare time.
