Shelly found her way to nonprofit fundraising early in her life as the daughter of the Head of School for a private school and has enjoyed twenty years working as a development professional. In her work as a front-line fundraiser and chief development officer, she has worked in all stages of the fundraising cycle and in area areas of giving including annual, capital and major gifts campaigns. With a degree in Organizational Communication from Miami University (OH), she thrives on building relationships and connecting with people.
Shelly has a passion for capital campaigns from the early planning through lead and major gifts and the public phase and victory celebration. She loves to coach and partner with organizations in fulfilling their strategic initiatives. She is guided by humility, accountability, and honesty in her approach to working on projects and with people.
Shelly has led the fundraising offices at The Schenck School, St. Martin’s Episcopal School and The Walker School. In addition, she has consulted with the Kentucky School Board Association, the Frankfort Rotary Youth Foundation, Gracepoint School, St. Benedicts Episcopal School and Kids Alive International.
Shelly has served on the Alumni Board at The Walker School, the AFP Atlanta Chapter Board, and the Cobb/Marietta Communities in Schools Board of Advisors. She is a proud Atlanta native who has spent her entire career enhancing the community that she and her family call home.
