Sherrie Dodson

Associate Partner – Analytics and Advancement Services

Sherrie brings nearly 30 years of development services and financial forecasting experience in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations to Alexander Haas. She brings a wide range of advancement services to clients including reporting and analytics, database administration, prospect research and management, gift administration, and data governance and management. She has assisted higher education and healthcare organizations with campaign capacity analysis, predictive modeling, staffing analysis, metric development and database conversion consulting.

Before joining the Firm, Sherrie served as Associate Vice President of Advancement Services for Baylor University, where she leads all areas of Advancement Services. During her time at Baylor, she led a successful database conversion, established Baylor’s first-ever Advancement Data Governance and Management Program, and oversaw the support services that led to the University’s successful $1.5 billion dollar campaign.  Her leadership in these areas has included supportive and effective mentoring of team leaders.  Sherrie now brings her extensive experience and expertise to other non-profit industries as a consulting partner.

Prior to her position at Baylor University, Sherrie worked in the for-profit, government contract industry where she developed predictive models, short- and long-term financial forecasts and comprehensive annual budgets. Additionally, she led a team as the business manager for all federal programs.  Sherrie began her career in a small, statistical analysis shop in Louisville, Kentucky.

Sherrie has presented at various conferences, including DRIVE, Big 12 Development, and CASE, on predictive modeling, forecasting, and prospect management guidelines.  She also served as a task force member, adjunct instructor and capstone course mentor at the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies, Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership, Rice University (2012 – 2019).

Sherrie completed her undergraduate work in Mathematics at a small liberal arts college, Mobile College, in south Alabama. She then continued her education with graduate degrees in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Louisville and Baylor University.

Sherrie and her husband, Derek, have two adult daughters and reside in central Texas. In her time away from work, Sherrie enjoys reading, Pilates, and spoiling her two (amazing) grandchildren.
